Colonel Harrington (to Poppy & Vincent): In case I forgot to say it yesterday, my young friends... Thank you so much for rescuing Gerald & Cecily. We're going to go to my cottage in Scotland and take a well deserved rest. Stay safe & happy!
Poppy (to Colonel Harrington): Good to hear it, Ambrose, and you are very welcome. Give them my love!
Vincent (to Colonel Harrington): It was nice meeting you, Colonel. I hope next time it's under better circumstances.
Colonel Harrington (to Vincent): I do too... And, please do me a favor, young Vincent. Keep an eye on Poppy, I do worry about her. Well, I know it can be tough and that she can be a right pain in the keester, but she clearly cares about you a lot... and that can sometimes lead to doing dumb things. I wouldn't tell her this, but I always thought of her like the daughter I never had. I'm very proud of her... Oh, and on that note, our ship has arrived. Be safe, my young friend.
Vincent (to Colonel Harrington): Don't worry, sir. I will. As much as she'll let me, that is. (to Poppy) Are you still mad at me, hun?
Poppy (to Vincent): Hmmm? I wasn't mad at you... just annoyed.
Vincent (to Poppy): Are you still annoyed with me, then?
Poppy (to Vincent): Yes... Maybe... No... I'm not even sure I was annoyed at you, to be honest, I think I was annoyed with myself. I'm sorry I was snippy with you, honey...
Vincent (to Poppy): It's alright, lover. Heh. It's not like I wasn't snippy right back. I'm sorry, as well.
Poppy (to Vincent): So, should we get you stitched up, honey? Is there anything else we need to take care of on this side?
Vincent (to Poppy): Mmm. Probably. I don't want to ruin any more of my shirts. I think I'm all finished up on this side.
Poppy (to Vincent): Well, do you want me to do it or should we head to the Charred Cross?
Vincent (to Poppy): How does it look, hun? What do you think? Hee hee. And how much do you want revenge? ;-P
Poppy (to Vincent): ... I think we should get you to Dr. Thorne, honey. I don't like the way it's swelling... you might need some antibiotics. What on earth cut you? A dirty knife?
Vincent (to Poppy): Close enough for a kewpie doll, hun. Drake got me with his cutlass. I dare say, he doesn't keep it clean like he should.
Poppy (to Vincent): Well, at least, we don't have to worry about him for awhile. I suspect that ISS will hold onto him for as long as they can.
Vincent (to Poppy): I sincerely hope so. I will be a happy lad if I never see him again.
Poppy (to Vincent): I've got some clean bandages & some ointment for the wound until we get over to the hospital, honey... hold still.
Vincent (to Poppy): I would hold still if it didn't sting! Easy, woman! I'm frail and delicate.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heh... You can't pull that card with me, honey... I'm almost done... There. Now, just the bandage.
Vincent (to Poppy): Well, you can't blame a boy for trying. I... Ouch! Shit. That's not comfortable.
Poppy (to Vincent): I'm sorry, honey. It's in an awkward spot. Can you pilot alright, honey or do you want me to do it?
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. Actually, I was just going to ask if you would mind flying the Falcon. I'm a bit... sore after all that.
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh... of course. It should only take us about 10 minutes once we're in the air to get over there, honey... I'll get to it, then.
Vincent (to Poppy): Thanks, hun. I'm going to shut my eyes for a few.
Poppy (to Vincent): I'll wake you when we've arrived, honey.
Vincent (to Poppy): Mmmm. Thanks, hun.
A short time later:
Poppy (to Vincent): Honey... Vincent... we're here.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hmm? Oh. Right. Sorry. Thanks for taking the reins, lover. Let's go get me properly patched up.
Poppy (to Vincent): Okay, honey... Can you ask Dr. Thorne if I can see her when you're done?
Vincent (to Poppy): Of course, hun. You're not hurt, are you?
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh no, not that I'm aware of... It was just something your sister mentioned to me yesterday, I just had a couple questions.
A couple hours later:
Vincent (to Poppy): Hey, hun. Are you alright? You were with Dr. Thorne for a long time.
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh yeah...Sorry about that. I had to schedule a return appointment. Ummm, I'm going to have to stay in town for a bit. Can you drop me off at the Inn?
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh. I take it you want me to head home, then?
Poppy (to Vincent): That's completely up to you honey, but I'm not sure how long I'm going to have to stay & I'm sure you want to get home.
Vincent (to Poppy): Well, I'm afraid I'm not really in any shape to pilot the ship, hun. Dr. Thorne had to dig some shrapnel out of my shoulder. So you'd have to drop me off if you wanted me to head home. What's going on, lover?
Poppy (to Vincent): Honey, it's going to be a couple months or more... Dr. Thorne was a bit unsure, because of my many trips through the portal my, um, physiology is a bit out of whack... and she couldn't get a good reading. She thinks if I stay here for a couple more days, she can get a more accurate idea of what's going on. I think I know what it is...
Vincent (to Poppy): It's not like I haven't stayed with you longer than this, so I'm guessing you have a reason for not wanting me around. What is it, hun?
Poppy (to Vincent): Heh... It's Victor, honey. Didn't you notice the age difference between Persephone & Victor? There wasn't much of one, was there... Well, apparently, this would be why...
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh. OH! Oh... Oh my God. Oh my God! Are you...? Is everything...? Oh... Wow. I... Wow. Sorry, hun. I know I'm kind of rambling right now.
Poppy (to Vincent): Dr. Thorne seems to think everything is fine. She just couldn't get an accurate age, I think from my recent portal trips. I think that's why the tests at the ISS were also wonky. I had my suspicions & then your sister mentioned that Otto had known about the pregnancy... And, we saw what the portals did to Otto, so it would make sense that it would make things a little bit weird when it comes to... um, pregnancies... God, I need a drink... Damn.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. Yeah, I guess no drinking for you a while, since your preggers and all. God. Poppy! I'm going to be a dad. A DAD.
Poppy (to Vincent): Yes you are, honey... Um... Do you want me to take you to the portal or do you want to head back to the inn with me?
Vincent (to Poppy): I'd like to stay with you, if that's alright. I mean, can I stay?
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh yes, of course, honey... I'd like that, I just didn't want to assume you would... I'm sorry I'm still a little shocked. I mean, I shouldn't be shocked, but I am... Oh, Bernard... maybe we shouldn't go back to the inn...
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh God... Bernard IS going to kill me.
Poppy (to Vincent): No, he won't because he doesn't want his sister to be a widow & his nephew to be an orphan... Oh... Wait... No, I take it back, he's going to kill both of us.
Vincent (to Poppy): Yeah. He is. Maybe Molly will stop him... Wait. Is that why you were freaking out earlier? You didn't... Did you know you were pregnant when we went up against Drake? Hun!
Poppy (to Vincent): I didn't know for certain, but I've had my suspicions for awhile, honey... I haven't actually been drinking alcohol since we came back after the test... But, I even tried tests on the other side & they kept giving mixed answers. After I saw Victor with Persephone, that's when I started thinking that it was true...
Vincent (to Poppy): Wow. Hun... We're going to be parents. I'm sorry. I know I keep saying that. I think I'm slightly delirious. Heh.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heh... It's okay, honey. How's your shoulder?
Vincent (to Poppy): We're going to be parents, and we don't fuck it up, hun. I just can't get over it. Oh. What? Right. My shoulder? It's sore. Dr. Thorne was able to dig out the shrapnel and stitch me up. But, she didn't want to use any pain killers, since I had such a bad reaction last time, so I'm a wee tender.
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh well, we're about to land at the inn, honey. We can get some wine for you from Molly, if you'd like.
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. Well, it certainly can't hurt. Course, I don't know how long I'll stay conscious after that.
A little while later:
Poppy (to Vincent): I'm going to see if I can get my room back and grab some food, do you want something, honey?
Vincent (to Poppy): Hmm? Whatever you can wrangle up will be fine, hun.
Poppy (to Vincent): Are you going to hide out on the ship, honey?
Vincent (to Poppy): Um, would you think me a coward if I said yes?
Poppy (to Vincent): Not at all, honey... I'm sure you want some time to think.
Vincent (to Poppy): Do I ever think, hun? Heh. I guess I should go with you. It's not like this is something we're going to be able to hide.
Poppy (to Vincent): Honey, I know for fact you do... And, don't want to hide it, I just want to make sure everything is okay before we start telling people... I'm probably being overly concerned.
Vincent (to Poppy): No, you're right, lover. God... I hope everything will be OK. I'm sure it'll be OK. It'll be OK. Right? Hee hee hee. Oh God. Listen to me! Just a few months ago, and I was freaking out because I thought you were pregnant.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heehee, well a lot has happened since then, honey... I'm just trying to do what I would do if I hadn't met our son already. Which is to be a little freaked & cautious...
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. Yeah. That kind of... Well, kind of changed things, didn't it? At least it did for me.
Poppy (to Vincent): Changed in what way, honey?
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh. Um, well... If you asked me a month or two ago what kind of dad I was going to be... I suppose I assumed I'd be a horror. You're a spy. I'm a pirate. We both have weird trust issues. We've got family issues out the wazoo... And our son, hun. He can control portals. That's huge. It's TERRIFYING. But.. he just seemed normal. Like a normal kid. Heh. I guess I figure I'm not going to screw it all up after all. In fact, I'm kind of looking forward to it.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heehee, well that's good, honey... and maybe for once all our weird hangups & issues come in handy. I mean, it's about time they became an asset & not a liability... And we're in luck! It looks like Molly made Shepherd's Pie for dinner, honey.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. I suppose so. And Shepherd's pie sounds divine. I feel ready to fall over.
Poppy (to Vincent): Here's a bowl, honey. I'm going to see about the room & I'll join you momentarily.
A few minutes later:
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh good heavens... Hurry back! Your brother wants to know why I'm so beat up and look so guilty, and I'm running out of lies!
Poppy (to Vincent): Ask him about Brigitte, that will keep him occupied for a little while... Molly is ranting about how my room is available but there's not a spare one for you... god, this is about to get super awkward... Uh oh... incoming... She's coming to hug you... I just told her we're a couple.
Vincent (to Poppy): Ouch... Oh God! She's got a grip like a vice. Oh good heavens... Your brother just asked me what my intentions are towards you. Now would be a very bad time for a joke.
Poppy (to Vincent): So, of course, you're going to make one...
Vincent (to Poppy): I... I did. He just laughed, clapped me on the shoulder and welcomed me to the family. I... I'm delirious, aren't I? This is a fever dream. Dr. Thorne DID give me laudanum after all. A shitload of laudanum.
Poppy (to Vincent): Yes, honey, you can think that... If it'll make you feel better...
Vincent (to Poppy): I just... I'm shocked. This is not the reaction I was expecting.
Poppy (to Vincent): Sorry, honey. Should I ask him to yell at you? Would it make you feel better?
Vincent (to Poppy): I don't know. It might.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heh... I could tell him I'm about to be an unwed mother... and some pirate knocked me up. :-P
Vincent (to Poppy): Oh God... Only if you want Victor to grow up fatherless.
Poppy (to Vincent): Well, do you feel better about him being nice to you now, honey?
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. Well, if the option are a friendly Bernard or getting my arms ripped off... Huh. Give me a minute to think about it.
Poppy (to Vincent): ... Still thinking?
Vincent (to Poppy): Yes. Ha ha! Ouch! I'm just kidding. Between your sister-in-law, Bernard and you, I'm going to need new stitches.
Poppy (to Vincent): I didn't pinch you anywhere near your stitches, cry baby.
Vincent (to Poppy): No, I'm pretty sure you did. I'm in excruciating pain. Excruciating!
Poppy (to Vincent): Well, I'm sorry if I did, honey... I'm going to head to bed, I'm feeling wiped out.
Vincent (to Poppy): Wait for me, hun. I feel ready to fall over myself.
Poppy (to Vincent): It'll be nice to sleep in a real bed tonight, honey... I love the Falcon but those bunks are not comfy.
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. No, they are not. She's not exactly a luxury liner. Hee hee. You should see Eep when he tries to sleep in them. So... Um, we're really going to your room, then? And I'm not going to be dismembered for it? Huh. Lead the way, then.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heehee, Have you ever asked Molly or Bernard how long they've been married or how long they've been together? Because, they were living together for 5 years and they only got married 6 months before Persephone was born... Molly used to joke that Bernard wanted to make sure it would last before he proposed... and Molly didn't want her belly all big in the wedding pictures... Clearly, my brothers are very big on tradition. :-P
Vincent (to Poppy): Ha ha! That is NOT the impression your brother gave me, when he gave me the "so you're courting our Poppy, are you?" speech. Hee hee. He's very protective of you, you know. He's not the only one, either.
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh, I think that's because they all feel guilty for leaving me on my own growing up... They all got sent off to work and you know, I stayed with our father until he died and then it was urchin time... I think they're trying to make up for it. I think it's sweet sometimes and really annoying at other times.
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. Well, that's how family is, hun. I' m sure guilt is part of it. It could be that they also love you, you know. :-P I'm starting to lose track of all the folks that have me to keep an eye on you. Hee hee. There are people out there who care for you, lover, whether you like it or not.
Poppy (to Vincent): Huh? What are you talking about, honey? ... And do you need help there? You seem to be struggling a bit.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hmmm? Oh, I'm just exhausted, hun. I'm rambling. And... yes! Would you help, please? I'm... I'm in a bit of a predicament.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heh... How on earth did you manage to get your vest under your shirt, lover?
Vincent (to Poppy): I am extraordinarily talented.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heehee, apparently... Okay, I think I've got it sorted. Alright, I love you, Vincent. Sweet Dreams.
Vincent (to Poppy): Thank you! I love you too, Poppy. Sleep sweet.
Poppy (to Colonel Harrington): Good to hear it, Ambrose, and you are very welcome. Give them my love!
Vincent (to Colonel Harrington): It was nice meeting you, Colonel. I hope next time it's under better circumstances.
