A Strange New Day: Day 70

Poppy: So, sweeties, are you already to head home?

Delia (to Poppy): Yes please. I'm ready to be rid of corsets.

Vincent (to Poppy): In spades, hun.

Mouse (to Poppy): That's good to hear, as much as I like the special treatment, I'd really like to sleep in my own bed.

Poppy: Well, if you will all proceed to the workshop, our host will be opening the portal momentarily.

Ripper (to Poppy): Excellent, I will be there, momentarily.

Mouse (to Poppy): Poppy, you're you again!

Poppy (to Mouse): Of course, honey, who else would I be?

Mouse (to Poppy): Uh... well, you naturally... I uh, I'm sorry my brain is a little frazzled...

Poppy (to Mouse): Honey, it's okay.

Vincent: I'm guessing from the look on your faces, you're confused about Poppy. Her "human" program was reinstalled. I don't think she realizes she's an automaton.

Mouse (to Vincent): Oh. OH! Damn, that's, wow... damn.

Delia (to Vincent): Oh wow, really? Soo.. we're getting old Poppy again? Poppy that's in love with you?

Vincent: She also doesn't remember being male, so mum's the word on "Percy" for a while. (to Delia): Lord, Don't remind me. I'm planning on having an utter and complete meltdown about it when we're all safely home.

Delia (to Vincent): That sounds like a plan. If you need a place to rage and rave, you're always welcome with me, sugar butt.

Ripper (to Vincent): So, is it the old "human" Poppy or something new?

Vincent (to Delia): Awww. Thanks, Mommy Dearest. I'm thinking it'll be me, my bed, and a box of Kleenex first. (to Ripper) From what I can tell, it's Original Recipe Poppy. Only time will be able to confirm or deny this. Good gracious... This is NOT something to contemplate while hung over.

Delia (to Vincent): Up to you. Though if you keep calling me that does that mean I have to beat you for using wire hangers?

Vincent (to Delia): Only if you wear that leather Bustier of yours while you do it. :-P

Delia (to Vincent): Yeah.. you'd like that waaaay too much. And then you'd want me to take it off then it'd get awkward.

Vincent (to Delia): No doubt. I can't be trusted. I'm a pirate and rogue, after all.

Delia (to Vincent): A downright rake and scoundrel no less! I'm surprised they let you anywhere near the empress! Oh the scandal there would be if you stole her royal heart away. lol

Vincent (to Delia): Hee. It's funny you should mention that. The Captain of the Imperial Guard was worried about just such an occurrence.

Delia (to Vincent): Well I can imagine. And you're a pirate after all. It's his job to make sure her eminence is well protected from such things. And it probably doesn't help that you are a pirate rather then a privateer… despite how gentlemanly you can be.

Vincent (to Delia): Hee hee. Well, "pirate" is more a term for someone who crosses borders and portals illegally, rather than a profession.

Delia (to Vincent): So you don't go around on a ship taking things that aren't yours?

Vincent: Are we all here safe & sound? Roll call, Mouseketeers. (to Delia) Heh. Sorry to disappoint you, hun, but not even a little bit. I've never done anything of the sort.

Ripper (to Vincent): Yes, it was awfully nice of our host to set the portal to our own places... I am now going to pass out.

Mouse: It is soo good to be home. Oh, Otto, don't look at me like that... I'll make you something special to eat.

Vincent (to Ripper): Indeed. Too thoughtful for him, actually. I rather think the Davenport sisters were the instigators of that small kindness. But don't tale small miracles for granted, I suppose. Take it easy, Professor. I'm glad we're all OK. (to Poppy) Poppy, do you still need a place to stay, hun?

Poppy (to Vincent): Yes, honey, I do. But, I should probably just get a hotel room. I don't want people to talk.

Vincent (to Poppy): What? Oh. Uh, well, no. I suppose not. Let me know if you need anything. I think I'm going to go collapse shortly.

Poppy (to Vincent): Oh, honey, before I forget, Klaude wanted me to give you this letter. I'm going to go & get myself settled somewhere. I'll talk to you later, honey.

Vincent (to Poppy): Oh. Thank you, Poppy. Go get some rest. I'll see you later. (to Eep & Mouse) You guys are OK too, right?

Eep (to Vincent): We're fine. We're, uh, home, which was odd but, uh, yeah. I'm not gonna think too hard about it. We're OK.

Vincent: Oh sweet mother of... Well. I think I'm going to lie down, and not get back up for a week. Or possibly three.

Mouse (to Vincent): Are you okay, little brother?

Vincent (to Mouse): Yes, I'm fine. Maybe. I think. Oh good Lord, I don't know. Klaude sent me a letter about Poppy's reprogramming.

Mouse (to Vincent): Oh, is that good or bad?

Vincent (to Mouse): I'm not sure yet. Since Poppy wanted to stay here, Klaude thought she'd get along better if she thought she were human again. She apparently modified some of Poppy's memories so that she and I were friends, but never intimate. I think. It's not really clear.

Mouse (to Vincent): Well, that's good, isn't it? You get your friend back & she's not in love with you.

Vincent (to Mouse): No, no. It is. It's just a lot to digest after the past few days.

Several hours later:

Poppy (to Eep): Hey there, Mister Mouse, how's married life treating you?

Eep (to Poppy): Uhhhh... Fine. Why? And Mister Mouse? Seriously, Poppy? What the fuck?

Poppy (to Eep): Oh, honey, you have such a way with words. You're like a modern day Oscar Wilde... Well, with the man love.

Eep (to Poppy): Oh.. You... You squeaky little... Nice. Real fucking nice. I was gonna give you your car back, you know. Good fucking luck with that now.

Poppy (to Eep): Oh honey, sorry I was only teasing... Wait, that sounded insincere... I was teasing.

Eep (to Poppy): Yeah. Yeah. Have fun taking the bus.

Poppy (to Eep): Honey, really the bus? With this face? I don't think so... I can get all the rides I need. I'll be fine.

Eep (to Poppy): I really don't want to hear about any "rides" you're taking. With anyone.

Poppy (to Eep): Wow, honey, way to take it to a dirty, dirty place... I did actually have something important to ask you, but you distracted me and now, it's completely slipped my mind.

Eep (to Poppy): Poppy. It's YOU. You can't make me believe you didn't mean that in a dirty way.

Poppy (to Eep): Honey, You cut me to the quick! It's like you've left me on the side of the road, unable to drive, to drink, to read...

Eep (to Poppy): Yeah. You're breaking my heart.

Poppy (to Eep): I want to roll my eyes right now, but the doctor says that if I keep doing it, my ocular muscles might spasm & eject my eyeballs.

Eep (to Poppy): Yeah. Yeah. If you ever remember what your "important thing" to ask was, let me know, so I can tell you to fuck off about that as well.

Poppy (to Eep): Well, I tried, honey, Mouse is just going to have to ask you herself... Way to ruin a surprise, grumpy. (to Mouse) Honey, I tried to get the information you wanted from Eep, but he distracted me with his grumpy ass. Sorry.

Mouse (to Poppy): Oh. Thanks for trying... I'm not sure I can figure it out discreetly & if I ask him, it's going to ruin the whole thing.

Poppy (to Mouse): Well, you could always ask Vincent, he might be able to figure something out.

Mouse (to Poppy): Yeah, you're right... or I'll just do it myself. Thanks again for trying. (to Vincent) Little brother, are you awake?

Vincent (to Mouse): Quite. What's up, sweetie?

Mouse (to Vincent): I need your opinion & possibly a small favor.

Vincent (to Mouse): Oh? Well, I should be able to provide you with both of these things.

Mouse (to Vincent): I need to figure out a way to get Eep's ring size for a present...

Vincent (to Mouse): Just check a pair of his pants while he's at work or in the bathroom. You two are staying together. It shouldn't be too hard.

Mouse (to Vincent): WHAT!?! What are you talking about? What does his pants have to do with a ring? God... do I even want to know?

Vincent (to Mouse): Oh my goodness... Hee hee. I'm so sorry sweetie! I missed the "ring" part of the comment. Clearly, I'm a little more wiped than I thought. Ring size... Well, that's usually the same as shoe size, isn't it? Same plan, but with shoes instead of pants. So, what are you planning, sister dearest?

Mouse (to Vincent): Hmmmm, well, shoes are probably do-able, if that's the case. Well, it should be obvious, I was going to get him a ring... Well, aren't you a Nosy Parker? :-)

Vincent (to Mouse): As if you didn't already know I was the hugest of Nosy Parkers. :-P Well, obviously. But what kind of ring? And what was it that you wanted my opinion about?

Mouse (to Vincent): I just wanted to give Eep a 'Thanks for marrying me in an alternate dimension' ring. As for your opinion, do you think I should make a grand gesture or just give it to him all matter of fact like?

Vincent (to Mouse): Well, with Eep, I think he'll get embarrassed and flustered if you make a big production of it, but probably secretly like it.

Mouse (to Vincent): Would you suggest the whole get on one knee & take his hand thing? :-P

Vincent (to Mouse): Oh. My. Goodness. That would be so totes adorbz, I think my heart would burst! Please, PLEASE do that somewhere I can see!

Mouse (to Vincent): Heehee, maybe... Oh god, he's going to hate that. I need to figure out a way to catch him off guard.

Vincent (to Mouse): Hee hee. Oh, he's going to TOTES hate it. You could always come into the club, and ambush him at the door or behind the bar.

Mouse (to Vincent): I'll have to think on it. Thanks, little brother!

Vincent (to Mouse): You're welcome, older sister of mine. I know you know it, but I love you, sweetie.

Mouse (to Vincent): Awww, I love you, too... What brought that on?

Vincent (to Mouse): Oh, nothing in particular. I'm just starting to relax a little bit now that we're home. I'm still scared of crazy Hiiri, but we've got help now. We're home, we're safe & I left those damn plans with Mr. Wizard.

Mouse (to Vincent): I'd say come over & cuddle up with me on the couch, but you're probably tired of seeing my face. Now, if only you could get Eep to relax... He checked all the doors & windows three times before he went over to his place to say hello to his roomies & make sure they weren't freaked out that he was gone.

Vincent (to Mouse): Awww, poor lamb. I hope he's as alright as he keeps insisting he is. I tried to get him to talk to me, but you know Eep... Actually, I'd like that. I'm exhausted, sore, had kind of a weird day yesterday, and I would LOVE some company.

Mouse (to Vincent): Well, come on over. He's probably going to be at his place for awhile, we can curl up & watch a movie just like old times. (to Eep) Hey sexy man, just wanted let you know that Vincent's going to here watching a movie, so you can relax & take your time... I hope Robert & Wanda aren't giving you too much trouble. I love you!

Vincent (to Mouse): That sounds ideal, sweetie. I'll see you soon.

Eep (to Mouse): Oh. Uh, yeah. Sure. I'm alright. Ma & Pa're just giving me a hard time about "dropping off the radar." What the fuck ever. It's not like we're all adults or anything. See you soon, hopefully. Love you too.

Mouse (to Eep): Just blame me, I don't mind. Tell them I had an out of town gig & you decided to go with me at the last minute. It's sorta true.

Eep (to Mouse): Don't worry about it. I'm fucking 31 years old. They can deal with me "heading out of town" without checking with them first

Mouse (to Eep): I love it when you're all take charge... Don't be too long. :-)

Eep (to Mouse): Oh, uh... Heh. Yeah. I won't.
