Onboard the Clementine, the docks; New London, Britannia:
Percy (to Vincent): … Oh, hello there, honey. What brings you aboard my ship? Old times? He says hoping for the best. ;-P
Vincent (to Percy): Old times? Good heavens! Heh. Old doesn't even begin to describe those times. How did your meeting go, hun?
Percy (to Vincent): … Well, I had several meetings, honey. One with a lady who believes her son is a vampire and thinks I could do something about it. The other meeting was with a very dark and mysterious man that wanted me to break into the New London police evidence storage facility and retrieve something for him… So, which one do you want to hear about first? I'm hoping the vampire one. That sounds way more fun, honey.
Vincent (to Percy): Cute. What was your tall, dark stranger needing you to retrieve?
Percy (to Vincent): Apparently, he's Liesel Rotmensen's uncle. She had a book in her possession that he needed back. It was apparently very important, honey. I suspect it has something to do with their "family".
Vincent (to Percy): ... Damn. I trust you'll be memorizing the contents. And making sure nothing can be traced back to the kids?
Percy (to Vincent): Of course, honey… Little miss George was being a wee bit suspicious. Should I be concerned?
Vincent (to Percy): Hee hee. Well, she was trained up by Margaux. Don't worry about George, hun. We'll take care of her.
Percy (to Vincent): Alright, honey. Should I go through with Rotmensen's request?
Vincent (to Percy): I'm afraid so... No reason to draw their attention to us at this stage. Besides, having the Rotmensens owe us a favor might not be the worst thing in the world, yes?
Percy (to Vincent): … I suppose, honey.
Vincent (to Percy): You don't have to do it if you think it's a bad idea.
Percy (to Vincent): No, I'm bored, honey. It's completely fine… It'll be fun.
Vincent (to Percy): Hee hee. You've always been an odd one, Percy. Have a good time.
Percy (to Vincent): Oh don't worry, honey, I will. You know how much I love men in uniforms. I think I might even snag myself one of those hats.
Vincent (to Percy): Heh. Don't get yourself arrested.
Percy (to Vincent): You never let me have any fun. ;-P
Vincent (to Percy): Yes. I'm a regular stick in the mud, I'm afraid.
Percy (to Vincent): … What's bothering you, honey?
Vincent (to Percy): ...I know they're the same age as me and Poppy when we started all our ridiculousness... Older even. But I hate that the kids are embroiled in all this... Heh. I suppose that there's no helping their DNA, though, is there.
Percy (to Vincent): Seriously, honey? You're feeling guilty about your rigorous lifestyle, now?
Vincent (to Percy): ...Heh. I suppose it's a little too late for that, isn't it?
Percy (to Vincent): I think so, honey. Go see to your lady & little bit. I've got work to do.
Vincent (to Percy): Alright. Have fun, hun. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Percy (to Vincent): Right… Don't knock up a girl that looks like an automaton you met in a bar or join a pirate crew. Got it… Oh, wait… you did those things. ;-P
Vincent (to Percy): Heh. Really. Who knew such stupid decisions would turn out so well?
Percy (to Vincent): Rub it in, honey.
Vincent (to Percy): ... Are you alright, Percy?
Percy (to Vincent): It's nothing… I just miss being able to have a real connection with a person, I guess, honey. Sometimes, it really sucks being an automaton.
Vincent (to Percy): Just because you're an automaton, doesn't mean you can't have a relationship like that again, you know.
Percy (to Vincent): That's easy for you to say, honey. You & Wanda have been it.
Vincent (to Percy): ...I'm sorry, hun. I wish I knew what to tell you.
Percy (to Vincent): I know… I should go. No rest for the wicked and all that.
Vincent (to Percy): Alright, hun. I'll see you later.
Percy (to Vincent): Toodles.
Vincent: Well...
An hour or so later, at the Longfellow bunker; The Tombs; New London, Britannia:
Poppy (to Vincent): What's with the face, lover?
Vincent (to Poppy): You are a sight for lonely eyes, lover. Come here, gorgeous. I've just had a chat with Percy. Apparently, he's lonely.
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh? Well, that's really… strange, honey. Are you sure he wasn't just playing with you? You know how he is.
Vincent (to Poppy): I don't think so. He seemed sincere. Heh... Of course, he could have become better at lying over the years.
Poppy (to Vincent): Heehee. Doubtful, honey. He's too obvious when he lies… We've always had a tell-- Never mind. No reason to ruin our mystique. :-P I hope you got what you needed from him, lover.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. You wrinkle your nose up? ... I think I got what I needed, sweetie. He's going to take the Rotmensen job, and he'll make sure nothing can be traced back to Yuki or Victor.
Poppy (to Vincent): I know, lover. Percy loves our family even when he's feeling a bit frustrated with us… Now, what's got you so edgy? You're usually less serious when I'm wearing this sort of thing… you've hardly commented. Actually, you haven't commented at all. It makes me feel like I shouldn't even bother. ;-)
Vincent (to Poppy): Good heavens! Haven't I? Heh... No wonder you think I'm out of sorts. I'm sorry, lover... I'm worried about the kids and all the drama they've become involved in, hun. All of them.
Poppy (to Vincent): You are the sweetest man alive, lover.
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh. You know how much I hate to disagree with you when you're complimenting me. Why am I so sweet?
Poppy (to Vincent): Worrying about all the kids... It's a blessing that they're not all ours by birth, anyway. I'd never have seen my toes. :-p Our children are smart & capable. I have faith that they will be alright... Unless, you know something, lover?
Vincent (to Poppy): No. And I know they're all more than capable... But they're still... Just *kids*, I suppose.
Poppy (to Vincent): ... Lover, how old were you when you joined Alistair's crew?
Vincent (to Poppy): That is entirely beside the point. I was an idiot.
Poppy (to Vincent): Yes, you were... But, our children were raised by that idiot. And, I trust you with my life, lover. You're not allowed to have second thoughts about all of this, now... Is this some kind of mid-life crisis? Should I be expecting the purchase of a ridiculous vehicle? Like a station wagon? Or heaven forbid, a mini van?
Vincent (to Poppy): Yes, and I'm going to be following that minivan with an extensive collection of polo shirts.
Poppy (to Vincent): ... That is not funny, lover.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. Please. You know I'm just kidding. As if I'd ever be caught dead in either. You're right, lover. You're always right. That doesn't mean I won't worry, however.
Poppy (to Vincent): I know, lover. That's why I love you.
Vincent (to Poppy): Mmm... And here I thought you were with me for my body all this time. :-P
Poppy (to Vincent): Oh! Don't get me wrong, lover. Your body is really the only reason. However your sweetness comes in handy on occasion. ;-p
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. So long as you've got a good reason.
Poppy (to Vincent): It's honestly the best reason. Have you seen you in those tight trousers you wear? Hard to resist... You'd have to be dead. I'm surprised we managed to have any children at all with you wearing those things, lover. ;-)
Vincent (to Poppy): Heh heh. I only wear these pants specifically to get your attention, lover. Besides, if I didn't wear pants these tight, we'd have three times as many kids by this point, wouldn't we?
Poppy (to Vincent): Well, practice does make perfect, lover. And, we have the children to prove it.
Vincent (to Poppy): Hee hee. Speaking of children, where's the baby tonight?
Poppy (to Vincent): In his bed sleeping, finally. His potty training tired the little bugger out. Thank goodness.
Vincent (to Poppy): Awww. Poor little pooper. Since we have some time to ourselves, come with me, gorgeous.
Poppy (to Vincent): With pleasure, lover.
